I have to give both Hubby and Alice Cooper props for the title. I giggled!

 

Over the weekend we went to see 'Happy Feet'

 

I heard from a friend that there was a strong propaganda message, but over all it was pretty good.

 

My review: It was a propaganda movie with a hint of cuteness and a couple funny scenes.

 

The movie was about:

-- A shunned penguin because he couldn't conform to the norm, and liked to dance.

 

-- The Christian right wing "man" holding down the people, saying that if the people didn't conform to the "right way of doing things", they would all starve. On top of that, the reason they were going hungry now was because of one little dancing penguin. Although it wasn't actually "Jerry" -- we will call this character "Mr. Falwell".

 

-- The "aliens" (a.k.a. humans) are over fishing the waters and causing the penguins to die off.

 

-- Zoo's are evil places where humans send cute little animals to be brainwashed.

 

Does this sound like a children's movie to you?

 

Although, if it was going to be a propaganda movie -- you would think they'd also go ahead and add global warming in. Maybe that is the topic of "Happy Feet 2 -- Penguin gets his groove back"
