I Love My Dog, I Love My Dog, I Love My Dog

This is what I have had to repeat several times this week.

Bubba, who LOVES garbage, has a passion (and a talent) for getting in the garbage. Personally, I don’t see the draw, but it is pretty strong according to her. This is not a new fascination, but one that has been subsided for a while, since we found a way to keep it away from her.

Our theory on our "good dog" is to remove temptation, and she is great!

The kitchen garbage is kept under the kitchen sink and the cabinets have latches on them (part of the design of the cabinet). Not the most attractive quality, but has come in handy for keeping Bubba out of the trash.

Apparently last Tuesday I closed one side of the sink (the side with the garbage), but didn’t close the other side very tightly. There must have been something pretty special in there, because Bubba decided to drag the can from one side of the sink out through the opposite door. Initially, this was annoying, and Bubba was punished for getting in the garbage. It wasn’t until later when we went to do a few dishes that we heard a dripping under the sink. Upon inspection, the pipe that goes from the drain in the sink, to the pipe that takes it out of the house was missing.

Yes, Missing.

Apparently the garbage was SOOO good, Bubba had to pull really hard to get it out, breaking the pipe out from under the sink. (I love my dog, I love my dog)

Here is an illustration of the part that is missing from the sink. Today (Friday… 3 days after the event), I am waiting for the plumber to come to give us a new pipe, so we can wash the dishes that have been waiting since Tuesday. Hopefully the plumber actually makes it here – you may recall our previous experience with things like this.
